About this experience

Tasting events are back here at Cucinato and we're excited to take you on a tour of the country's best wines and wine-making regions!

With summer just around the corner, what better place to start than sunny Southern Italy? Tonight we'll be sampling classic varietals from two of the great "Meridionale" grape growing regions: Sicily and Campania. The Greeks, Romans and Byzantines all produced wines in this part of the peninsula long before the founding of modern Italy, so it's hardly surprising that some of the country's best wines come from here!

Your hosts for this evening will be Cucinato's Gaia Massai (a Tuscan wine producer in her own right), in collaboration with Erin Henderson, chief sommelier and founder of the Toronto-based wine event company, The Wine Sisters!

Gaia will introduce the regions and food pairings throughout the evening, giving some interesting historical and cultural context, and Erin will give you a deeper dive into each of the classic varietals and producers she's chosen to spotlight this evening.
